KEANU (the movie)

The masterminds Key & Peele have done it again (and beat me to the punch)!

They made a movie called KEANU that, I would say, is loosely based on the John Wick.

Just take a look at the trailer and see for yourself!

I can’t wait to laugh my ass off to see this little kitty in action. BRAVO Key and Peele! Bravo!

A Little Keanu Update:

Keanu humbly talks about his character John Wick and his excitement for the possibility for a sequel (which updates from this interview you can thank you lucky stars because they are in the works for a sequel!)

And spoiler alert he also talks about his excitement about Bill and Ted 3 and how they are still trying to get that movie made and how he would love to do another Matrix.

Are you bored at work? Do you want some answers to questions you didn’t even think you needed the answer to? Well, look no further. I have them. Well, I don’t have them, the person who created this video does.

I know that if you’re reading this site you probably have some fascination or interest in Mr. Reeves and if you’re truly dedicated you probably have seen he latest movie, now out on Blu-ray and DVD, John Wick.

As you probably already know (and if you don’t SPOILER ALERT) he kills a lot of people in the film. But how many? Well, this little video some amazing person put together not only tells you but also shows you all the kills in the film! It’s ridiculous and amazing. So, how many do you guess? 10? 15? 50? See how close your guess is to the real thing and check out the video here:

John Wick Here…

I will have to admit when I first heard about Keanu’s movie John Wick I was not impressed. A former hit man getting back into “the game”. Yawn! But when I saw the recent trailer my tune has definitely changed. Not only is he a reluctant returning hit man but he’s one who definitely wouldn’t want to mess with because he’s got a cause to get back into the game. Just watch.

No one kills an adorable puppy with out consequences. And to top it off it the puppy was a gift from his dead wife! No wonder he’s pissed and ready to spill some blood.

Not only is Keanu upping his acting game but he’s also exploring the ever popular anti-hero/hero character. Sure John Wick has probably has done some wrong in his life and gone and changed his ways but when pushed you better watch out.

Also Poor Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen ) will you never learn not to piss off the wrong people.

Rumored has it that it’s a heavily violent/bloody movie which I’m sensing a Drive-esque feel. I know I’m ready for some bloody revenge Keanu time. Are you? The movie comes out October 24th and I’m a gonna be ready, blood and all!

Are you?

Celebrate Keanu

Since a lot of people take the time to celebrate their Birthdays all week, why not do that with Keanu and his work.

Why not grow out your hair and catch the end of summer and watch Point Break?

Or if that’s not your thing why not binge watch all of The Matrix Trilogy? If those are not your thing have no fear because he’s done pretty much every genre, so you have a lot to pick from: Keanu’s IMDB

Don’t fight this feeling and just relax and enjoy your weekend with Keanu because you know deep down inside, it’s worth it.

Keanu Movie Club- Parenthood (1989)

Keanu is an actor with many roles under his belt ranging from “The One” to an Orthodontist who’s obsessed with wolves. But there’s one role that he’s played, maybe, too well: the angst ridden teen. Nothing compares to his sweet, naive, absent minded, “stoner” character Tod Higgins from the Ron Howard’s 1989 film Parenthood.

Tod Higgins is a good guy who just loves his girlfriend (Martha Plimpton) and not as dumb as everyone assumes. This character is a gem in Keanu’s crown of misunderstood teen angst during the late 80s and early 90s. No one did it better. There was a beauty and ease in his acting for these roles and if you never thought Keanu could act, think again and watch this:

There’s some truth and pain in that monologue, probably stemming from his real life experience with his own father not being around. Keanu has more depth then people think. Sometimes you just have to look a little deeper and beyond the “vacant stare” because you might see a beauty and innocence you’ve never noticed.

Other suggested watches:
My Own Private Idaho (1991)

Rivers Edge (1989)

John Wick (Oct 25th, 2014)

Mark your calendars, a new film starring Mr Reeves is coming to us all soon!

IMG_4273.PNG,
The film is about a hitman, not to be confused with his upcoming TV mini series Rain where he also plays one.

Sounds interesting and action packed. And William Defoe is in it so we at least know it’ll be good, creepy fun.
I know what I’m doing the 24th of October. Hope to see you there.

Also thanks to Dan Portnoy for bringing this Keanu News to my attention!

Keanu Movie Club: Youngblood (1986)

Yes, Youngblood. Have you heard of it? No? Well, be prepared to have your mind blown.

Get your panties ready because this movie not only stars a young sexy Rob Lowe but also a delightfully dapper Patrick Swayze both playing minor league hockey players that are guaranteed to make you sweat.

The movie is about a skilled young hockey prospect (Rob Lowe) hoping to attract the attention of professional scouts is pressured to show that he can fight if challenged during his stay in a Canadian minor hockey town. His on-ice activities are complicated by his relationship with the coach’s daughter. (IMDb)

But wait. Who’s that at the table with them. Oh, it’s little Keanu, giving great little one liners and comic relief through out the whole movie. Since he actually played hockey when he was younger he was able to provide pointers and tips to his cast mates giving the movie the feel that they actually were playing halfway decent at hockey.

Even though he wasn’t the main character and didn’t have too much screen time I still think it’s worth a Keanu Movie Club must watch!

And I bet you thought Keanu and Swayze only made one movie together….you’re welcome for this new found knowledge!

Keanu Movie Club: Hard ball (2001)

It’s Monday and we are all sleepy so why not treat yourself to a classic film, Hard ball.

Wait. You haven’t seen it you say? Well, you’re in for a treat.

Sure it may look like a bust but trust me it’ll be worth your time.

Also, here’s a test:

Guess the singer at the end of the film.
