Keanu AMA Revelations

Check out the Keanu AMA answers
This just proves how much of a nice guy Keanu is and I love that he does this as his social media/promotion for his upcoming films (ps John Wick comes out Oct 27th). He does it, and does it well.

Even though there was no mention of the musical there were still interesting, fun questions like how it was to work with George Carlin, Bill and Ted 3, and the secret to happiness.

He also talks about meeting Patrick Swayze for the first time.

All this confirms he’s just a nice guy and one of these days I hope we will be friends!

Journey Continues: Bill & Ted 3

Everything will be alright!

Bill and Ted 3 is in the works. FOR REAL! Well, at least that’s what recent articles have stated.

The plot focus on Bill and Ted now, 40 something dudes who still haven’t written the song that will “save the world” (you might recall this little piece of information from Bill and Ted’s Excellent Adventure when Rufus lets them know they save the world/create peace with their music). This is a lot of pressure and I can understand why they haven’t written it yet because what if they fail.

I can’t wait for this movie, though it seems like it may still be a while before it graces our screens.

But in the meantime here’s a little poster teaser.

John Wick Here…

I will have to admit when I first heard about Keanu’s movie John Wick I was not impressed. A former hit man getting back into “the game”. Yawn! But when I saw the recent trailer my tune has definitely changed. Not only is he a reluctant returning hit man but he’s one who definitely wouldn’t want to mess with because he’s got a cause to get back into the game. Just watch.

No one kills an adorable puppy with out consequences. And to top it off it the puppy was a gift from his dead wife! No wonder he’s pissed and ready to spill some blood.

Not only is Keanu upping his acting game but he’s also exploring the ever popular anti-hero/hero character. Sure John Wick has probably has done some wrong in his life and gone and changed his ways but when pushed you better watch out.

Also Poor Theon Greyjoy (Alfie Allen ) will you never learn not to piss off the wrong people.

Rumored has it that it’s a heavily violent/bloody movie which I’m sensing a Drive-esque feel. I know I’m ready for some bloody revenge Keanu time. Are you? The movie comes out October 24th and I’m a gonna be ready, blood and all!

Are you?

Knock, Knock…Who’s There?

The new Eli Roth movie starring Keanu Reeves called, what else, Knock, Knock.

The film is about “A pair of femme fatales wreaking havoc on the life of a happily married man (Reeves).”

I’m thrilled to see what Eli Roth and Reeves will create working together and just excited to see him in a horror/thriller role.

Check out his interview here:

John Wick (Oct 25th, 2014)

Mark your calendars, a new film starring Mr Reeves is coming to us all soon!

IMG_4273.PNG,
The film is about a hitman, not to be confused with his upcoming TV mini series Rain where he also plays one.

Sounds interesting and action packed. And William Defoe is in it so we at least know it’ll be good, creepy fun.
I know what I’m doing the 24th of October. Hope to see you there.

Also thanks to Dan Portnoy for bringing this Keanu News to my attention!

Keanu Movie Club: Youngblood (1986)

Yes, Youngblood. Have you heard of it? No? Well, be prepared to have your mind blown.

Get your panties ready because this movie not only stars a young sexy Rob Lowe but also a delightfully dapper Patrick Swayze both playing minor league hockey players that are guaranteed to make you sweat.

The movie is about a skilled young hockey prospect (Rob Lowe) hoping to attract the attention of professional scouts is pressured to show that he can fight if challenged during his stay in a Canadian minor hockey town. His on-ice activities are complicated by his relationship with the coach’s daughter. (IMDb)

But wait. Who’s that at the table with them. Oh, it’s little Keanu, giving great little one liners and comic relief through out the whole movie. Since he actually played hockey when he was younger he was able to provide pointers and tips to his cast mates giving the movie the feel that they actually were playing halfway decent at hockey.

Even though he wasn’t the main character and didn’t have too much screen time I still think it’s worth a Keanu Movie Club must watch!

And I bet you thought Keanu and Swayze only made one movie together….you’re welcome for this new found knowledge!

Why We Love Patrick Swayze

In honor of Mr. Swayze’s Birthday today I thought I would share the reasons why I love this man and decided to have him be a major component of my musical.

I had a similar view on Patrick Swayze that I did on Keanu. A quick to the draw write off, thinking he was nothing more then a sub-pare actor and a guy just trying to teach a girl named Baby to dance. Also I didn’t think he was that cute OR sexy.

I remember watching Dirty Dancing when I was in junior high and not getting why this guy made all the ladies swoon. Sure, his moves were great but I just didn’t get it but, boy, was my opinion going to change and I’m glad it did.

It was probably years later when I was home one lonely night and flipped through the channels to see that this movie called Road House was on and I thought I would give it a try.  The night I felt I saw Mr. Swayze truly for the first time. That was the night everything changed and I’m sure glad it did.

His character in that movie had a beautiful quietness to him that made you glued and keep watching because you weren’t sure what was gonna come next.  How could you when you’re introduced to Dalton as  a Philosophy major turned bouncer. How can you go wrong? Also, adding in Sam Elliott to the mix was a nice touch for this delicious sexy sandwich.

. The beauty that lasts forever and I respect.

After that movie I saw Swayze in a whole new light of love and respect. My eyes were opened to his beauty that was only confirmed more in films like Ghost, Point Break, and To Wong Foo Thanks for Everything, Julie Newmar. His films allowed me to slowly understanding his grace and charm and why he’s deemed sexy.

I even went back recently and watched Dirty Dancing and can now understand why Baby felt this way. He’s EVERYTHING!

And you still are everything Mr. Swayze and Happy Birthday! We still love you!

Keanu Will Save You

Mr. Reeves is one of those actors who’ve been in a slew of different movies but there is one genre that has really stood out in his career.

Action movies!
We all know the movie.  The one that broke him free from his stoner persona. The one that made every woman want to be held hostage on a bus just so they could nuzzle into his strong-ish chest. The one that made us want more kick ass Keanu in a cop uniform.

SPEED!

Sure, there are a handful of other action movies that you may think was his better “action” role and I would have to agree that his character Johnny Utah from Point Break comes in close second but there’s something about Speed that really gets my motor running. He’s just so confident and emotionless, unless he’s with Detective Harry Temple (Jeff Daniel’s character) who was his TRUE love.

But Speed stood out above the rest because, while all his peers were busy dispatching their bad guys with a knowingly raised eyebrow, Reeves played his hero as straight as a bullet. As someone who has always been averse to any trend that relies on a dosage of smug irony, it was his persona, rather than those of Cage or Travolta, that resonated most. While Bruce Willis flaunted the gift of the gab, Reeves showed little interest in chitchat and was all the better for it. Traven’s capacity to get his job done with a minimum of unfunny asides and forced repartees is something that appeals to anyone who covets the misanthrope’s life but comes up short in his particular brand of workplace self-assurance.

See! I’m not the only one.

But what do you think? Who’s your favorite Keanu Action hero?

Also, I’ve noticed he’s played a lot of characters named John….

Attn: Johnny Utah is missing

Where’s Johnny Utah?!?

Don’t worry though I think we can find him September 1st at the DNA lounge in San Francisco performing in Point Break Live! I have not yet been to see this magical reenactment of one of my favorite Keanu films Point Break. The greatest fact about Point Break Live is anyone can try out to be Keanu! So, If you’re ever jonesing to get your “whoa” on go see this play!!

Keanu Movie Club: Hard ball (2001)

It’s Monday and we are all sleepy so why not treat yourself to a classic film, Hard ball.

Wait. You haven’t seen it you say? Well, you’re in for a treat.

Sure it may look like a bust but trust me it’ll be worth your time.

Also, here’s a test:

Guess the singer at the end of the film.
